Roy, the company's creator from the United Kingdom, relocated to the British Virgin Islands in 1990 after landing a position as a windsurfing teacher. He began collecting bits and bobs from his Bali visits for friends and soon realised the potential for a business. Arawak first opened its doors in 1995 and today has five boutique and interior design outlets spread over the BVI. Arawak has become a popular shopping location for both locals and tourists. They feature international brands such as Hurley, Havaianas, and Roxy, as well as local ones such as Trèfle. There are 2 boutique locations on Tortola (Nanny Cay and Sopher’s Hole.) and 2 on Virgin Gorda (Spanish Town and Leverick Bay).

Rosewood Little Dix Bay

Rosewood Little Dix Bay is a Caribbean island resort that has been welcoming visitors since 1964. Laurance Rockefeller, an environmentalist, purchased the property in 1958 to establish a resort in harmony with nature. Little Dix Bay first opened its doors in 1964 and joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in 1993. Following its golden jubilee, the resort had a multimillion-dollar refurbishment, combining local cultural influences and indigenous materials into its architecture and interiors while remaining luxurious and environmentally conscious. In 2021, Rosewood Little Dix and New York Brand Frolic + Detour partnered on a resort apparel collection that promoted sustainability and casual luxury, increasing visitors' enjoyment of the property's laidback lifestyle.
